The Department of Environmental Facilities, in accordance with a consent decree between Westchester County and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, has developed an Interim Cryptosporidium Monitoring and Action Plan, dated Feb. 17, 2015.

Additionally, the EPA requires the county to offer Supplemental Environmental Projects. These projects are:
- Increased hazardous household disposal days for WD # 1 residents through the H-MRF Reservations system.
- Increased medication take-back days for WD # 1 residents.
